Masayato Games Team

Masayato Games is the developer behind Anito Legends. The team has had a combined experience of more than 20 years in game development in the hyper-casual space for mobile. The team is no stranger to the gaming industry as they have had success in previous projects with a number of their games on Android and iOS garnering over 50 million downloads with a current DAU of 20,000 players.

Based mostly in the Philippines, the team has had media attention in the past with a number of social experiments, namely Vote Clicker, an app that gamified the country’s 2016 elections and received significant mainstream media attention, as well as Streetfood Tycoon, that was featured in the country’s largest TV network as well as other media outlets.

The team is composed of the following individuals, starting off with James Chua as CEO. He has had over 10 years of experience as a mobile game developer having founded Pixelkit Inc and Popsicle Games with co-founder Jed Cruz. Jed is is also a faculty member for Multimedia Arts in one of Manila's top colleges for the past 5 years and serves as the team's Chief Creative Officer. Erick Garayblas is the COO in charge of overall game design. He is the Game Design Winner in Storm of the World, outshining 250 other participants from other countries. He is also a startup mentor for Ideaspace and Startup Weekend. He has been featured as one of the 'Mad Men of Mobile' in a book of the same title. Lastly, Jayvee Fernandez serves as CMO bringing to the table over 15 years of experience in traditional and digital media, starting the blog network for Hinge-Inquirer Publications in the mid 2000's and leading the digital transformation efforts for The Manila Bulletin from 2013 to 2021. He is also the founder of 8List.PH under the PR and marketing agency Stratworks / ID8. He has been organizing influencers since the days of Web 2.0 since 2007.

Justin is the Lead Developer with over 10 years of experience in game development. He co-founded Choo-Choo Apps with Erick Garayblas and has worked in tandem with him in various projects before joining the Anito Legends team. Justin also has a B2 certification in German. James Honda Jr. is our lead artist. He started out as a 2D/3D artist intern for several months before joining the team full time, for the past 2 years. He also earned his Autodesk Maya Certified Professional Certification in 2015.

Eli Rabadon is a seasoned blockchain developer and has been working closely with the team for smart contracts implementation through DV Code. Luie Magbanua has an extensive background with PR agencies and client servicing for more than 10 years. Christian Angel handles web security as a penetration tester. Sam Khalil has recently joined the team, having had previous experience in game development.

Nate joins the team as community and social media manager with previous experience in GM work for other game publishing studios. Rick assists in social and community but is also our artist for all the material the team pushes out to the community.
